Mustard Review

Hello Bag Blog World,

I have decided my first blog post will be about something I am incredibly passionate about, and that is mustard. There are ALMOST as many mustard variants as there are Fast and Furious movies! Mustard is a condiment made by grounding mustard seeds and adding different ingredients. In classic yellow mustard, vinegar is added, in Dijon, white wine is added, horseradish and honey mustard’s added ingredient goes without saying, cayenne pepper is added for a kick to make some spicy mustard. Some mustards are even fermented! All mustards are different and delicious in their own way.

For my first blog post I am going to review and rate my top 3 favorite mustard styles. Mustard goes great with almost any meat, but I am going to use Johnsonville Original Bratwurst as my vessel to consume the various mustards, however, the

#3 Honey Mustard

Honey mustard, the delightful balance of mustard spice and honey sweet. A very easy variant to make too! I enjoy the tang of this style on pretzels, you know, those pretzel bites by the Hanover pretzel company? Those are really good. The versatility of honey mustard ranks it at number 3, it can be used as a salad dressing! Now I’m not going to reach for it first thing when I am making a bratwurst or burger, but I will definitely enjoy its tangyness as a shake up.

#2 Classic Yellow Mustard

There is something about the classics. The simple addition of vinegar makes regular ground mustard into something creamy and delicious. I don’t know what it is about a classic backyard BBQ burger, brat, anything, coated in the old time classic. However, this is not #1 because it would be somewhat out of place in some situations, I would laugh if I ordered a pricey charcuterie board and they brought yellow mustard as a side, however, I do rank this high solely on the nostalgic feel I get when eating this style of mustard.

#1 Spicy Brown Mustard

Here it is. The absolute GOAT of mustards. There is not a single situation that this style would go bad with. Burger, boom! Delicious. Bratwurst, BOOM! Delicious. Charcuterie, KABOOM! Elegant. I cannot imagine a world without spicy brown mustard. There are so many different types of spicy brown mustard too, all seasoned with different spices.

That is my top three, Dijon is #4 and Stone Ground is #5. Honorable mention is probably horseradish mustard. Let me know what you think, but if you don’t fully agree with me, you’re wrong.
